The weather has been great and overall we have had a reasonably mild winter in the Northland. So far we have seen minimal ice damage in the marina and are looking forward to prepping the docks for spring launch. Slip renters will receive their Spring Commissioning and Launch Checklist in a separate e-mail in the coming week. If there are any special boat projects you are considering for the spring, please let us know as soon as possible. Click on this cool link to stay updated on the ice status of Lake Superior. It Has Been a Busy Winter
The service staff has had a busy winter which has included, just to name a few projects, the installation of a bow thruster, a new style electric head, numerous upgraded electronic packages and we are currently installing a hot water heating system in a sailboat. We started December, 2009, with over 65 winter service requests and they should all be completed by spring. In addition, the staff spent a week removing the bridge from “Superior Time” and preparing her for shipment to Florida. A specialized shipping pallet measuring 12’ x 24’ had to be built just for the bridge. It took 2 trucks and 2 pilot cars to make the move. The load with Superior Time was over 90’ in length. A video of the move can be seen in the Service section of our website and on Face Book.

I Sure Miss My Boat
The Clubhouse Opens on Weekends Starting April 3, 2010
Have you forgotten what your boat looks like? Or do you need to take a few measurements because you lost the ones you took last fall? The clubhouse will be open on weekends starting Saturday, April 3rd. Stop by for a visit and re-familiarize yourself with your boat.
2010 Slip Contracts
If you have not yet returned your 2010 contract, you will need to do so as soon as possible so as not to lose your preferred slip assignment. We do still have slips available. As of mid-February we have 12 new boats that are moving to Pikes Bay in 2010 – The Best Address in the Apostles!
